Bulbo medusae new leaf spots
Default Bulbo medusae new leaf spots

Just returned from holidays and noticed the new growth on my Bulbo medusae isn't doing really well.
On the picture: you can see the spots on both sides. It still has to fold open and continue to grow as well. The leaf still doesn't feel as firm as the mature ones.
I guess this is fungal... Due tot the holidays, air circulation and humidity were lower than normal.
Would I already treat this plant with a fungicide?
Any other advice?
Thanks

Avoid water on the leaves.
Keep the plant with plenty of fresh air.

I'm not sure it's fungal. Could be a bacteria.

I have two medusae and they both get water on their leaves every day. They are "rained" on daily - one mounted and one in a hanging basket.

I would wash the leaves off with alcohol to see if you can stop the spotting. If it continues I would try a fungicide.

Don't worry too much - new leaves are noticeably softer than mature leaves.

In the 2nd pic...are some of those "spots" raised and bumpy? A few of them look suspiciously like scale. Not sure...could just be the way I'm seeing the pic but thought I should mention it.

If it is scale...that has nothing to do w/what's going on in the first pic though.

The spots are not scale, they are sunken. I will treat the plant with a fungicide and put him outside in the shade. Thanks for the advice and I will keep my fingers crossed...

I've purchased Cuprex because this has both an antifungal and antibacterial option. I will follow it closely and perhaps I will cut off part of the leaf and then apply cinnamon.
