Is EcoSMART pesticide safe to Use on Phalaenopsis? Male
Default Is EcoSMART pesticide safe to Use on Phalaenopsis?

Hello everyone!
Do any of you have experience using EcoSMART Organic pesticide on Phals? My mother brought in some new plants...along with Spider Mites! I noticed Mites on a few of my Bonsai, and treated them with the EcoSMART with no ill effects to the plants. I have most of my Phals in another window, but a few were close to the Bonsai !
I'm wanting to treat them but I'm unsure about using EcoSMART on Orchids.

I'm sure it would have to be diluted, if it can even be used at all.

Active ingredients are as follows:
Rosemary oil......0.17%
Thyme oil...........0.10%
Sodium Lauryl Sulfate....0.06%
Peppermint oil....0.03%

★other ingredients: Wintergreen oil, White Mineral oil, Polyglyceryl Oleate.

Any input is greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

On the essential oils themselves, it's not those I have listed as effective on mites, but as it's a work in progress, it may be alternatives.

The main issue is the oils (in 'other ingredients'). They must be perfectly emulsified (here by polyglyceryl oleate) to prevent them from clogging stomates.

Thanks for the reply! I was concerned about the oils clogging stomates as well. And if I diluted the solution, would it throw off how the oils are emulsified? Sorry, I'm new to using any sort of pesticides.

I have used food grade Diatomaceous Earth on a few outdoor plants, and also spread it in my aviary to control bird mites. I have thought about trying to sprinkle some DE on my orchids, but as a desiccant, I'm not sure if it would absorb too much moisture long-term.

I almost wish I had a phal to experiment on, but I love all of mine too much!

I'm totally broke right now or I'd just order something proven effective and safe for Orchids. Trying to work with what I have around the house before I buy something. Although If things start looking bad, I will buy whatever I need to keep them healthy!
