I did post my organic solution earlier in the thread. I use bait traps, and dunk my orchids in water before bringing them inside.

I'm not telling people how to grow their orchids. I simply suggested that it is a highly toxic chemical and should be treated with respect. A lot of gardeners these days are unaware.

Oh thanks for all the info, when I pull my big tropicals in I am always afraid of the bugs that will come out ugh...brown wolf and gray jumping wolf spiders I dang near bring my house down when they show up.

There is an (supposed) organic spray you can use that is supposed to be safe for kids and pets to be around I used it for my hibiscus plants bc my tortoise eats the leaves and blooms. I just dont know about orchids. Its called eco smart.it says it kills earwigs and cockroaches. Blug!

Bulbo, what you said was entirely respectful and appropriate. I did not feel you were telling anyone what to do; you simply suggested and I appreciated the suggestion! Happy growing!

My bad-- I just missed your suggestion.

And, I didn't take it to mean you were telling anyone what to do. My only goal was to not get into a debate over chemical treatment vs home remedy. It's been done and, unfortunately, it tends to get heated so I thought it best to just avoid it. Different strokes for different folks...to each his own...and all that good stuff.
