Default cinnamon falls on to growth point

I was using cinnamon powder to seal a cut on my phalaenopsis, and I accidentally spilled some into the crown (the area where new leaves emerge). I am not sure whether it fell onto the apical meristem (growth point). But if it did, will it kill the growth point?

I doubt it! I think cinnamon is pretty innocuous, in that it helps sterilize open wounds, but with in-tact growth, I doubt it does anything at all.

I second Ross, but if you feel like doing something about it take a straw and blow it off.

Hi Jeremy,
I'll third that! I have done the same thing more often than not. All new growth is fine. Never had a problem.

Thank you all. I removed the cinnamon by spraying a stream of distilled water in the crown, and all the cinnamon floated out. I also dried the crown with tissue paper to prevent crown rot.
