Masdevallia's leaf problems Male
Default Masdevallia's leaf problems

I've been growing Masdevallia's for several years Masdevallia's.
But now almost all have the same problem the same problem.

It start with the blackening of the leaf tips at the back of the leaf. (picture 1)
Then the leaves turn leathery after that they turn yellow. (Picture 2 and 3)
Some leaves will curl up.
After that te leaves drop and the plant dies. (picture 4 and 5)
The plants keep producing new leaves.
However, these are smaller and fall off before they mature.

I grow them cool in a greenhouse.

I need some help with this before they all die.

1. Pots look too big.

2. List the names of the Masdevallias.

3. Don't grow them too bright.

4. How often do you water?

I find mine do well with quite a bit of air circulation. I have an evaporative humidifier that switches on if humidity drops below 55% - in my conditions its running at least 8 hours a day. I also have them near a slightly open window which helps with circulation.

Hi there, I know this is a very old thread. But I’m having literally the exact same problem, and I’m hoping you may have had some luck diagnosing your Masdevallia problem. Please let me know. Thank you!
