By the way, washing with hydrogen peroxide or alcohol doesn't help much as this disease is spreading inside your plant.
You will need systemic chemical to fight against it.

Get rid of (or burn) all affected parts and the old media.
Are plants in the last two photos a division from the main rotting plant?
As long as there is no dark ring on the cut portion on that smaller division, the plant should be fine, but still, treat the whole plant just in case and for the sake of other plants you have.
Fusarium is very serious.
thanks - yeah, it was that dark ring that concerned me - didn't seem to bode well

both the small divisions left after cutting them away from the obviously affected parts show the ring on the rhizome - not enough plant left if I cut anymore, which would likely be pointless, I think - just gonna trash it

thanks for your help!

neosporin cream is antibiotic. Fusarium is fungi. Antibiotics will only be effective against bacterial attack, not even all bacteria.

Sonya- if your division also has that dark ring, then it's best to discard the plant as it will die within short time as the infection spreads. by then, you will only risk your other plants.
The plant is rather commonly available and it is just not worth all this headache.
