Default C porphyroglossa - New leads die

I mounted this plant about 2 years ago. The older part of the plant is green and well rooted into a fern fiber plaque. The problem is anything new tends to wither away. The plant is growing in several directions...or as it is not growing. I know my bifoliates really hate being moved. But I would think after this amount of time it would be over the mounting. It does not look like a virus, nor any type of rot.
Anyone have a clue?
