Orchid Positive for CymMV! Help. Female
Unhappy Orchid Positive for CymMV! Help.

Over the past few months, several orchids in my collection (of about 140) have developed brown/black dry scars on tops of leaves. I suspected flat mites because I had them about a year ago - positively identified via microscope. I treated the entire collection with Bifenthrin which helped, especially on the Phals.

Now 3 months later, the Catts are developing similar scarring. I tested one today for ORSV/CymMV and to my devastation, it tested positive for CymMV AND the one beside it also tested positive.

I immediately removed all that showed scarring from the grow room (about 50), and am awaiting a new shipment of Agdia test strips @ $205 (yikes).

Here is my question: How would you sanitize your grow room if you encountered this situation? Clorox, Phyton, Peroxide, Alcohol 91%, Others?

i think it's a 10:1 water:bleach solution that's easiest, but you can also use a 2 tsp/gallon Physan 20 solution.
