Default Lumpy vanda roots

Hi I was wondering if anyone has an idea what’s going on with my vanda. I thought maybe she was dehydrated but more humidity and longer watering isn’t helping. Right now I’m watering her once a day she has a humidifier and a little fan running. Not sure why her roots are like this. Anyone have an idea? I’m in New York and she’s indoors getting jacks 20-20-20 monthly also. Her leaves are good it’s just the lighting. I’d say it almost looks like a rubber band going up and down it.

Those look like waves of growth. Vandas are heavy feeders. I'm going to guess that reflects your cycles of fertilization. Martin Motes of Motes Orchids has written he uses full strength fertilizer instead of water every 5th watering through the year.

Okay so more fertilizer? I thought so to be honest but I can’t get green tips to show. That’s why I have been worried and then they started looking like this. I slacked on the fertilizer since I had my baby last year and I was watering with her. Now that I think of it I do remember seeing since I started fertilizer again in January

Has it been cool? They don't grow roots much unless it's warm.
