Hope everyone is doing well.

I need your opinion about these spots on leaves and what would be in your opinion be the solution?

These are from 2 Cats growing in a garden, have flowered correctly. Intentity of natural lighting is controlled. Maybe for few weeks wwee overexposed to too much light but not direct sun.

Thank you!

Looks to me like they are being attacked by insects, possibly with a minor secondary infection.

I would not recommend trying to treat anything unless it expands significantly.

Hello Sade
I had that type of spots in some of my plants. Could never determine its origin but, unless they spread, honestly I never gave it much importance.

I have some random spots and blemishes on my phals that are similar. Like Ray, I assume it’s minor damage from something and then a small secondary infection. I haven’t ever treated and none of them get worse. No indication of spreading from plant to plant, so I’m happy not worrying about it.

The problem is that I am coming from a Big infection spread toany orchids and I now panic that is not well cure or gone.

Why is not treating better than "prevention" ?

Thank you 🙏!

Most of what I see is mechanical damage - scrapes, scratches. This happens easily to Cattleyas.

I wonder whether the patch of black spots just above a pseudobulb is old scale damage.

Treating when you don't need to selects for resistant diseases and pests. It kills beneficial organisms. Rather than pesticides and fungicides I treat with mixtures of beneficial organisms. These are often sold a plant probiotics.
