Pale Spots/Patches on Cattleya Pseudobulbs Female
Default Pale Spots/Patches on Cattleya Pseudobulbs

I purchased a cattleya on eBay (Pot. Hey Song 'Orange') a couple of weeks ago and have had it bare rooted for about 10 days in preparation for repotting (medium didn't look that great). Went to pot it up this morning and I noticed pale(r) green patches on the pseudobulbs, which I'd never seen before. (Didn't find much on Google, either.) Anyone have any suggestions as to what's going on with the plant?

(Luckily it's been in quarantine and will continue to stay isolated until I figure out what the heck to do with it...)

Thanks for reading!

First, Welcome!

Is it possible that it was getting a lot of bright light where it was lying? That bleaching might be just short of sunburn. I think that you can go ahead and pot it up, and just keep an eye on it.

Thank you, Roberta! Bright light could be the culprit. Thanks for the insight! I'll pot it up and keep it in quarantine, just to be safe. Fingers crossed the discoloration turns out to be nothing!

The seller might have removed dried sheathing bracts from the plant before shipping it.
