Default Black Rings on my orchidís leaf

I recently brought in all my orchids to protect them from a cold snap that we where having. I noticed these black rings on my NIOD brassavola hybrid. They look nasty! Is this something I can simply cut away? Iíve already got the plant quarantined but Iím not sure if I need to treat it with something to prevent it from spreading. Thank you in advance for all your help.

My arm-chair diagnosis is that something bit the leaf to suck the juices out and it became infected. Cut off the end of the leaf about 1/2" inside of that, dab the cut with cinnamon powder on a q-tip, and that's likely the end of it.
