Mist King - horizontal spacing for nozzles? Male
Default Mist King - horizontal spacing for nozzles?

I'm contemplating using a MistKing system in my shower/bathtub for my mounted orchids when I'm out of town. There is a skylight in the bathroom. The tub has tiled walls on three sides (both short and one long) up to the tiled ceiling, and the other long side has glass doors that don't go all the way to the ceiling. There is only a minimal chance of causing water damage with the doors closed.

I plan on leaning a plastic rack in the tub, against the long tiled wall, and hanging the mounts on the rack. I would suspend the nozzles above the plants.

My questions - how far apart should I space the nozzles for complete coverage? Would one horizontal row of nozzles cover all the plants, about 5 feet of vertical space?

You have to consider both dimensions, as well as the distance from the nozzles to the plants.

I had three double-headed nozzles (i.e., 6 individually directed nozzles) running down the middle of a 6' long by 3' wide area, about 18" above the plants, and it just wasn't enough. I have since torn that down, but if I were doing that again, I'd probably go with six doubles.

I've been thinking of doing the same thing for when we go on vacation - would love to see pics of your setup when completed.
