has anybody ever used a pond fogger

I hear a pond fogger in a fish tank or something like that works great for humid. does any body know

just ordered a 5 disc ultrasonic fogger that's arriving tomorrow
it's going in the bucket
that's a drier vent and high rpm computer fan
holes on the side of the bucket so it doesn't create a vacuum

Ive been told by a couple of people that a pond fogger uses alot of water so i was thinking that if your 5gal bucket is to small maybe a 25gal trashcan with a lid would work good also; just thinking out loud

I made a 5-gallon bucket humidifier that trickled water over a stack of EcoWeb disks as the medium. There was a submersible pump in the reservoir at the bottom that pumped the water to the top for trickling back down. I put a float valve in the reservoir, and merely connected it to an existing water supply with a piece of 1/4" tubing. Zero maintenance.

I stock all of those components, so PM me if you want to look into that.

I have a similar set up to this but with a 40 gallon reservoir. I have mine hooked up to a float valve too and use it when I'm home. I turn it off when I'm gone from the home for more than a day as I don't like the idea of a possible water leak while I'm away.

I'm curious about the fan pictured above....my five disc USH would soak that thing! Is it water proof?

As for USH using a lot of water...it uses no more and no less than any other humidifier. I found other humidifiers to be completely ineffective in my environment. The USH does use more water because it actually did the job, where the others wasted time and energy but little water and to no effect.

No, it's not waterproof. Yes, it's soaking the fan...

I use a dryer hose too but I cut out a second hole so the fan is blowing air IN to the can creating positive pressure and its only way out is through the dryer hose and in to my grow space. This way the fan never gets wet and the hose can still be used as its flexible to get around corner etc and in to my grow space.

This USH discs will really kick out moisture so I was surprised to see your method as when I tried it, my fan too got soaked.

I thought these pond foggers could lie in an open container of water in the growing area and do its' thing... Does it need to be outside of the greenhouse or growing area? I just had the images of this disk in a big bucket and a cable going out of the greenhouse to the power supply. I obviously need to do my homework here...
