Default dosmatic microdos 2.5

I bought this dosmatic Microdos 2.5% and was wondering if someone had used one or could explain what the 2.5% means . I had it set at 1.1 ratio and i thought it would use 1 gallon of concentrate to 100 gallons of water but it seems to use more and i'm wondering if maybe the 2.5% means it is a different ratio even when set on 1.1. If someone could help it would be greatly appreciated.
thank you

2.5% is just the specification of the maximum possible concentration for that particular model. 2.5%=1:40

If, at 1:1, it is consuming more that 1 gallon of concentrate per 100 gallons of water, it is either defective, or it really isn't set correctly.

Ok i think i had a brain fart. In order for me to get this to work i need to have this set at 200-0.5 which is the lowest and go by the instructions on the fertilizer setting 1.200 100 ppm amounts per gallon on the instructions to get a 1.1 ratio is this right?

I don't know of a MicroDos 2.5%. You seem to be describing a MicroDos-II 2%. I have one of these at home. I also have a MiniDos-12 2.5%. The MicroDos-II 2% gives approximate dilutions of 1:50 to 1:200 while the MiniDos-12 2.5% gives approximate dilutions of 1:40 to 1:200 (when you specify ratios you should separate the two numbers with a colon not a decimal point). The dilution settings are not highly accurate; I use a conductivity meter to verify the dilution ratio.

The MicroDos-II 2% has two scales for setting the dilution - the scale on the left gives ratios while the scale on the right gives the percentage that corresponds to the ratio. So a setting of 200 on the left scale is specifying a ratio of 1:200 which is equivalent to 0.5% as shown by the scale on the right.

I found my notes from last year when I was trying to calibrate the MicroDos 2% that I had bought.

Setting Measured ratio
1:50 1:60
1:66 1:70
1:100 1:120

Also, I noted that "additional testing shows that the MicroDos does not function reliably against a source pressure of 90 psi; it seems to function OK at 40-50 psi."

Also, with an inlet pressure of 90 psi it leaked and I could not stop the leak.

I like my MiniDos 2.5% but I was disappointed with the MicroDos. I now use the MicroDos for injecting quaternary alkyl ammonium disinfectant into a waste stream where I am not concerned about reliability.

Edit:
I just checked on my MicroDos and it does not seem to be working at all. The MiniDos works well; I check its calibration frequently, the MicroDos is extremely disappointing.
