Fren you can wire up a mini [you mean muffin/aka computer fan?] fan very easily, it's the thermostat that I have no clue about.

With the [mini/muffin/computer] fan it will have two or more cords coming off it probably going to a plug that
you plug into your computer.

They will be black, red & yellow. Buy a 12v adaptor that is used to power small electrical items and cut off the plug that goes into the item [not the one that plugs into the power point! ] you will see it two should be divided into 2 cords a black one and a red one.

Match the colors on the fan to the colors on the adaptor, join them [I have just twisted them together and taped over them or you can buy special little plastic plug/connectors that you insert the wires into and tighten them to hold the wires in place]. place your fan, plug it in [into a timer or straight into the plug as desired] and turn on the power.

If nothing happens you have not matched the cords to the right corresponding color cords- rewire it. I usually
just tape over the extra yellow one if it is there.

The adaptors I use have an adjustable voltage [?] and so can you make the fan go slower or faster..

I can take a photo of it if you like, if it would help?
