Default Tonight, my orchids are out all night!

I have been taking my orchids outside in the morning and bringing them at night for around 2 months now. Finally it is at about 57 F at the lowest. They are also in a bit of a micro climate (the area between 2 houses, and under a tree). So they should be good. I will continue to watch the weather and be ready to move everything back again.

This year I collected some paphs, phrags, (11 of them) and I also got quite a bit of new cattleyas, around 9 of them. This area is best for cattleya types.

So far since I started to take them out, the growth is fabulous. I am now seeing the difference the "real" sun and wind makes.

I agree, the real Sun, wind, and rain do seem to have a great effect. A few of mine have been out for a couple weeks now. The past couple of days were chilly, but hopefully we're out of the danger zone now.

Teach them to watch out for strangers! I hope you don't have javelina in your neighborhood.

Actually we only have birds here, no squirrels or tiny pigs.
