Default Bet My Spike's Bigger Than Yours!

Unfortunately, I missed these flowering, but the remaining spikes are amazing....a couple about 6' long!

I think it is some form of Schomburgkia, but missed the flowering so have not positively ID'ed yet. Body of the plant is similar to the local native Schomburgkia tibicinis we have here, but several times as large (p-bulbs the size of my forearm!).

Impressive, but take a look at the parting shot page of the July Orchids magazine. How about an Oncidium Colon 'Key Lime Pie' AM/AOS with a 9 foot long profusely blooming spike, supported midway by a hook, draped around a doorway. It belongs to Bill Suddaby in the Florida Keys.
