heh one mantis egg case hatched for me and the frogs ate them as fast as they hit the ground. Ill have to find a better place to put the nest up next time so they have a fighting chance instead of falling into a frogs open mouth... poor little mantis never had a chance...I saw a fleeting glimpse of the few left and they are fast. I tried to take a picture and I can see the bug move before the shutter opens back up..ppfft..

I can see some lovely creatures in their garden. I used to live in my small apartment since 2 years. So sadly I don’t meet these innocent insects much. But when I was at my mom‘s place I could meet lots of creatures out there. It is a quite big garden. I feel so relax when pending time with these nature creatures.

Default A few.

Dragonfly.
Snake and
Lizard.
(Sounds like a Chineese Kung Fu movie.)

They are so beautiful! We get the dragonflies, but no snake or lizard. I have a neighbour who will not work on her garden any more because she saw a tiny garter snake. I told her I would gladly have snakes in my garden. These ones eat slugs!

I prefer to stay away from any form of pest control because of the gulf fritillary caterpillars in the garden. Some pictures of a previous project I did with the insects is posted on the thread 'Operation Gulf Fritillary'.

We have lots of cool critters here

This little guy like to hang under my patio:

This is Rocket who lived in my yard and played with the kids and dogs until he got too big and now lives at a local wildlife park:

We get red tailed black cockatoos, sulphar crested cockies, corellas and galahs as well as tiny little yellow eared honeyeaters and firetail finches and recently the crimson rosellas have been enjoying the seedung grasses. We have lots of common garden skinks and eastern water skinks and the odd Jacky dragon. Most nights our front lawn is overrun by kangaroos
