well, imagine the change... I did Amazonian forest - Caracas - Frankfurt in 3 days :-))))

that was 1996 and since then I have never been in the jungle again I really miss it... so, this year I am going to Venezuela, and already told my family I will not stay longer than 2 days in their house

Beautiful plants! One of my favorite, fell in love with Bird of Paradise during a trip to Costa Rica! I only have a couple of fake metal ones from Pier 1 Imports in my home unfortunately!

Thanks Ramon, these birds have thrown me off to another path, that of birdwatching (another hobbie, just what I needed lol). We have nothing that exotic down here unfortunately. Hummingbirds is as crazy as it gets, though I have seen some very cool birds of prey...off to hunt down some more birds, for pics of course with my still new camera....Geeez I need a new lens

he-he, I can tell you... birdwatching (my other hobbie) can sometimes be worst than Orchids LOL

ok, I admit you do not have such exotic things like Birds of Paradise in teh USA, but you do have other great birds there too: warblers, orioles, and all those diffrent grouse species (amazing courtship displays!)

yeah it is a very consuming hobbie. So far the only "display" I've seen was a bird called a common myna? It did a little dance and song which was pretty cool.
