At around a half inch long, could they be hummingbird eggs?
Google Image Result for http://howtoenjoyhummingbirds.com/todbakers%20hum%20eggs.jpg

It's SO cool to find bird eggs in your stuff!
last year, I had a family of Carolina Wrens build their nest in the Staghorn Fern I have hanging directly outside my kitchen window. I watched (and photographed) the eggs from day one till the day the 4 babies flew the coop! Way too cool!!!

Birds visiting my hanging plants drive me crazy! I get Pine Warblers (which sing so sweetly) that come in and steal potting medium! I wouldn't mind it, except they can't tell the difference between a piece of bark or shag, and a ROOT! I've really had some damage from the cute little guys.

Sorry for venting.

My first guess would be geckos or some other lizard. Have you noticed any bird activity? If the eggs are warm, then theyre probably bird eggs. If not, then theyre lizard eggs. Either way, its prett cool! I keep finding tree frog eggs in my Stanhopeas growing in spag.

Hmmm, If it's a bird, I see they left them, as I never ever see them come back?

And those pots get wet often- daily, so I don't know why they'd lay them in there?

I'm thinking that they are not coming back, what ever parent it is

I don't think is a bird... or is a mad bird.... in my house the birds stole my spag and go to built a nest, but never in my pots... they know i see my chids diary...
Hummingbirds do a very elaborated nest with spider silk ... probably is the result of the global heating...JAJAJAJJA
