Hello Everybody, I’m a forever Floridian, and am now having to deal with our Iguana invasion. I have a pretty
large Encyclia Tampensis specimen growing on a palm out front, and I thought I had a slug or snail issue. For the past 4 nights, I would inspect this particular plant, along with others, and find buds and flowers cleanly chewed off.
I now have about 5 or 6 buds remaining, and these will be gone by tomorrow. Any of my fellow S. Fl orchid connoisseurs having like issues, or notice the rising population of this invasive species, or others? It seems we get a new invasive reptile every few years……Jesus lizards, Curly-tailed lizards and don’t forget the Burmese and African Rock Pythons. Happy growing and regards, Rob

Welcome to the Orchid Board!

Member Dirty Coconuts from south Florida had a lot of lizard trouble. Maybe search for his posts and see what he did.
