Those are native to the whole coast here. Plop them into pure, undestilled sun and forget. They grow, naturally, in very tiny pockets of earth. I collected some years back and keep forgetting them until they bloom, each year doubling the number of plants sporuting as well as mature bulbs ready to flower. YOu should only water them if you by more than a month without rain. If you water more, they might grow larger, but i would go for nothing else than superior drainage.

Edit: They grow like up untill 5ish meters from the coast of our sea, so they are tolerant of winds as well, if need be. If you are a colder climate resident, i suggest not unearthing them, but keeping them in a clay pot to bring inside over winter.
