Actually, I think it needs a cold winter. I once had it on my order list from Hengduan Mountains Biotechnology, but I asked Wenqing Perner (the owner) about it, that if it needed frost to take it out of my order. She took it out... I had tried it a couple of times and failed miserably, and conclude that it needs a significant chill that I can't give it.

That could be the case. I tried it a couple times before in pots that I wintered indoors, and only once did it come back from dormancy. And even then the plants were weak and died before blooming.

Hab. dentata doesn't need to get so cold... I have managed to get that one to come back (outside, southern California)

I have a H. medusa getting ready to bloom. I'm definitely going to try crossing them.
