Blewett Pass is on the east side of the North Cascades and runs from the tourist town of Leavenworth south to Ellenburg and Cle Elum. It is a fabulous place for different species of Lewisias, for native orchids and for butterflies.
Wow. Just wow!! Amazing scenes, butterflies and flowers. I love native plants, and you know I go crazy for Ericaceae!! I have got to plan a vacation up there some spring.
Thanks, Rosie, we have an excursion planned to see the Mountain Lady's Slipper again this summer. We have a new location that has huge clumps of them that we want to visit.
Thanks, Tindo, and when you do come out, let us know. We can put you up and take you around, if you need a place and/or a guide. Don't come too early, though, or the snow won't be out of the mountains. Those pictures were taken in August.
