It grows in most of the northern and northwestern counties of California and along the coast and in the mountains down into the central part of the state. The USDA's distribution map can be found here: California County Level Distribution for Cypripedium montanum (mountain lady's slipper) | USDA PLANTS
Actual locations are something you'll have to come up with by talking to someone who knows.

awesome! hard to tell for sure from that map - but it looks like they could possibly grow in my county! I'll be looking into this further - thanks Ron!

Really beautiful, Ron! Slipper orchids are really rare inthe wild here.
