These are some pictures of the volcano (volcán de Agua) called also Junajpú in the original languaje. As you can see the top has been deforested.
My friend and I started to went up at the 10hrs. Are way to climb is a farm of loquat (the best of Guatemala) so we are allowed to do it in the flower season of the tree, if we do in the harvest we can be seen like some kind of thief.

Almost on the top of the volcano, we do it only to the middle
Another Govenia spp., the ones from this altitude start to bloom like 1 or 2 weeks later in comparison at the firsth ones that I show you, because the altitude, it´s like a 200 or 300 meter of diference in the same volcano!! it´s incredible how exact could be the nature

In this one we can see the roots of some Govenia spp. into the dead leaves of the trees (oak and pine) remember, not all the terrestial orchids live into the ground, the most part of the terrestial orchids in Guatemala lives in this medium, even, in the acid dead lives of the pine
A Prostechea ochracea of a group that falls from a tree of 25 meter of height, the reason: rain, the plant becomes to heavy for the branch and then this happend.

This is a Lithophitic-terrestrial orchid, growing in a rock with dead leaves
Now, the jewel of the expedition a Cyclopogon spp. (maybe violaceus) a very small flower

Another Jewel Govenia dressleriana, a community of 50 plants that have young and adult plants in a forest of pine, very acid medium, whit the sun in the late afternoon direct on the plants
Medium were they grow
This is the bigest plant that we found, and mature plant ready to scattered her seeds, loves the sun afther the 15hrs. so you can have and idea of her tall my friend is standing close to her (between 80 to 90 cm. tall)
Ok, the best for the end Govenia lilliacea, this species has found in Guatemala a few years ago. I´ll leave you some literature from the book of the Doctors Dix & Dix "Orchids of Guatemala".
