Nick,
We found some of them while hiking - this one was one we came on along the trail, but some of them we had help. A staff member at the Mount Robson visitor's center sent us to two places where we found a whole hillside of the Mountain Lady's Slipper and another site where we found thousands of the Yellow Lady's Slipper along with other orchids.

Sounds like a really fantastic trip. I haven't spent very much time in the Mt Robson area before, but I am going to have to make a point too. Again, great pics and info!

Nick,
If you ever do get out there around the last week of June (the best time for orchids), let me know and I'll give you specific directions to where you can find the orchids, both at Mount Robson and elsewhere. You do have to do a bit of hiking in Mount Robson PP (the two best areas in the Park are about 7 km down the Berg Lake Trail, but that's an easy hike).

It is a real thrill to see them in the wild. Would love to show them to others, too.
