Default Ross in the Fakahatchee

all, Had the pleasure of showing Ross and his wife Dottie and also David (dgenovese1) a little piece of the Fakahatchee Strand last Sunday. A trip a long time in the making. We managed to find a blooming Simpson grass orchid, a Dingy flower star orchid. I was able to show them some spiking ghost's, unfortunatly none in flower. I had a great time and hope they did as well. Here's some pictures of the trip. And looking forward to Davids and Ross's pictures since they had much better equipment then I did.

Hey Dave,

Thanks for a great guided trip to the strand! I had a fantastic time. I'll be posting a few pics tomorrow evening...I'll post them in this thread to make it easier to see all of our pics together.

Take care, David

PS I'm looking forward to the return trip in a couple of months to get a look at those blooming ghost spikes.

Ross, you and the MRS went on a trip to Florida and didn't grab me on the way down... and you're gonna see Sue!!!!! Well that's a fine howdy-do... See if I invite you on my next trip south! On a serious note, I'm sure it was a great trip and one I'd love to take someday, especially if some of my Florida friends could join in on the excitment.....

It's great to see the OB connecting people in other ways than just online forums. Looks like you all had a great time! Thanks for posting the pics.

Thanks for the trip and the memories Dave. We had a blast and will probably totally recouperate by the time we get back to Michigan I even think the scars will be mostly gone!

Here are some of the images Dottie and I captured:

I don't do most Dendros or large, "floofy orchids". For me it's minis (like Angraecoides), Masdies, Paphs, and others that crept in somewhere along the line. See my orchid list for complete collection (usually not current.)
