Default Fourth Week of the 2013 Native Orchid Season

Starting to think about the new hiking and orchid-hunting season and thought I'd post some of the photos and links from last season.

This was the week of April 28th through May 4th and the Fairy Slippers, Striped Coralroots and Spotted Coralroots were the featured orchids.

We found this week a number of white Fairy Slippers, a joy, since the ones we had found the year before at another location had been dug up.

There are many more pictures on the blog post below:

Thanks for the pictures Ron, just love the ones in the wild. Man I would never dig one up, well I am sure I would kill it any way.

But yes I will pick up an arrow head.

Thanks for commenting, No-Pro. There's quite a difference between an arrowhead and a rare plant.

Love the blooms! I am looking forward to spring when my garden comes alive. Spring seems a little far away here, though, right now.

It seems too far away here, though we usually go out the end of February for the first wildflowers.
