Default Pink Ladyslipper (Cypripedium acaule) in bloom

This past weekend, I went to the Atlanta, GA area to photograph some precocious pink ladyslippers. While most of their colony mates were still in earlier stages of bud, these few were stand-outs from the crowd.













It's too bad that there are no slipper orchids native to Florida, but I guess Florida can't have all the lovely orchids.

Prem thanks for sharing- they're beautiful. Where did you find these beauties? I live NE of Atlanta and would love to see some native orchids.
