Wonderful. There is some real beauty in these tiny flowers and as you say that's the great thing about macro work.

I never noticed a lot of these little gems until we started looking for them and using a macro lens.

I just wish I had owned the SLR/macro lens the one and only time I saw a wild orchid growing in the UK (Dactylorhiza). I got some OK shots with my compact while lying on the ground, but could have done better with the proper macro lens, might have to go back to that part of the UK and try and find them again. There are such gems when you look, I'm just glad we had read the right info-sheet before taking the walk and so we knew their were orchids in the area.

Native orchids have become our passion, and the purchase of macro lenses has been a big part of that. I bought one first (my wife didn't think she wanted one) and never had so much fun with a lens in my life. She decided then that she wanted one as well and now you can find both of us lying o the ground in the woods taking pictures.
