Default Spiranthes cernua? and others from New Hampshire

Hello all,

Took the family on a road trip to Newfoundland Lake New Hampshire. Hiked a bit in a few different places and a few different types of orchids. I didn't have time to look up the plants on field guides so not sure what they are except for the Spiranthes, probably cernua, what do you all think?

Great finds, Tindo. I'm not as well acquainted with eastern orchids as with ours out here, so I'm going to leave the ID's and verification of Spiranthes to others. Careful, though. Hunting these jewels can become as much of an obsession as growing the tropical orchids.

That is a precious experience to see orchids in situ....I had been to that area but I was not growing orchids then, so even if it bit me I wouldnt have a clue what it was

Cernua would be my guess. Either that or laciniata or possibly ochroleuca. The flower isn't quite open enough to see the lip and most of the other easterners don't start flowering til fall.

The 1st & 3rd on the second row look like Cyps, and the middle one looks like a Clintonia, but I think it's too far north for that.

Nice finds.

Cheers.
Jim
