Default Green Bog Orchis

Platanthera huronensis which grows everywhere along the Yellowhead Highway in British Columbia, from Tete Jaune Cache to Jasper. We found it growing with Bog Candles in every wet and boggy spot along the highway.

Might not be exciting to you if you see lots... but we don't get them here so it's exciting for me to see.

I love the elegant spikes coming up out of the surrounding greenery in the last couple of pics. Of course that's not to say the close-ups aren't great to, all wonderful!

We spent so much time stopping and photographing these along the road (every spot looked better than the last) that we were late to our son-in-law and daughter's house.
