Default Near White Fairy Slipper

Photographed near Leavenworth, WA, in the area of Chiwaukum Creek:

very nice. there's a few colonies of this variety in California, and I think they're prettier than the pure white ones.

Hey, that's nice to know, Kip. I didn't realize there was a color form like this.

Ron - Love the shot and I'm kind of glad that it was not a pure white variety, the color and stripes in the lip are striking. I need to go hiking with you!!!!!

I just might have to take you up on that. I remember many, many years ago making a trip to the San Juan Islands, I fell totally in love with them. That was well before I got into orchids. Have you ever explored them for orchids?

Anytime, thee both of you! Orchid blooming time is best, though. As to the San Juans, there are a lot of natives on Whidbey, Orcas, and others.

Ron, this post is confusing me. The pic on this post appears to be a pretty white looking Calypso bulbosa which matches the title of this thread. However the blog link appears to be Coeloglossum viride which I would not have classed as a Lady Slipper.

Have I got that wrong/ am I missing something, or is there a mistake in the post?

Anway, really like your shots of the Coeloglossum viride. Like with some of the others I really like the longer shots showing how they look amongst the other plants.
