Great stuff.
I was in Ecuador 2years ago (around Quito and Mindo)and it all came back to me seeing your photos.
By the way the 8th picture is Masdevallia strumifera.
Looks like a small fried squid.!

I have it listed as M. nidifica, but I could be wrong. Here's my source:

Either way, it's a gorgeous plant. The reserve isn't too terribly far from Mindo, either, so I'm sure we saw a lot of the same plants. I've heard the birdwatching down there is great, as well.

You are absolutely right-it is M.nidifica.I changed my label.Looking at it now I had it as M.strumifera aff.
