I got lucky and saw this Cigar Orchid in the swamp of Big Cypress National Preserve.

Nice! Was that the only one in that area? That's the orchid that started my interest in orchids.

I didn't see any others in the area I was looking. I need to come back and take photos when it's in bloom. Do you know of any others in the Big Cypress?

I know of 1 cypress dome in BC that has around 5 separate plants.

Nice find TRAX. Shouldn't these be blooming now?

I was told fall blooming, but maybe its s'posed to be spring?

After looking at the Orchid Species website, I see that they bloom in late spring...
