I spent some time in Panama last fall working with the amphibian conservation program focusing on the endangered Panamanian Golden Frog, EVACC. While there, I took every chance to explore the surrounding areas in search of flora and fauna.

These orchids were growing on a tree in the front yard of the cabin in a manicured area at the base of the cloud forest. Does anyone have an identification? I'd love to get one in my orchid tank at home.

Sorry,no ID from me. But the area in Panama is a featured site with Cornell Bird Cams(as well as having partners in other places around the world) and looks like a place I'd love to visit as well.

Are those flowers on the plant at the center? When I enlarge the photo it's too fuzzy to see anything.

Great question, here's a cropped close up. They are coming from beneath and appear white.

Could this be a Trichopilia from a strange angle? I'm bad at guesses. :P

Trichocentrum popowianum? Supposedly endemic to Écuador, but Panamá is not that far away, and there is much field research undone.

Trichocentrum was sort of what I was thinking as well, its almost certainly something in that genus, I will take a look at some of the other species.

The only other tip I've gotten was Pleurothallopsis sp. After looking through the species and ranges, P. tubulosa seems to be about the only applicable one and the blooms aren't quite correct.
