Default Summer in the courtyard

Just a few orchids that I've had blooming over the past few weeks. The Max. tenufolia is annoying me this year, there are about 20 or so buds on it but only 2 or 3 will open at a time I really wish my camera picked up the color a little better on the Dtps. it's the most gorgeous shade of lavender blue! C'est la vie... And finally, I can't take credit for the Paph blooms at all. These are 2 of the ones that I was able to pick up at Redlands a few weeks ago and the Paph. dianthum just finished opening its second flower. Just wanted to share!

Thank you both! It’s my first time getting either of these to bloom but sooo worth it. The Den unicum has the best orange color (that pic is not enhanced in any way) and also the strangest fragrance. I’ve read that some people thought it smelled like peaches, some like tangerines, and some like crayons. Mine smells like all three- very peachy, slightly citrusy, and definitely like a brand new box of Crayola crayons, lol. It’s much stronger than I was expecting; not unpleasant, just odd. The Den wassillii had the fastest spike development I’ve ever had on any of my orchids- tiny nubbin at the base to full bloom in under 3 weeks! I like that one too, it reminds me of those pretty white fireworks

Thanks! The Dtps. is such a charming little thing. The Paph venustum was a total impulse purchase. I had made a list to take to Redland fest of all of the Paph specie I was interested in (mostly multiflorals and a few brachies), to give to the vendors so they could point me in the right direction. I saw this one, talked to the grower for a day and a half about it, and just couldn’t leave with out it. It checks all of the boxes for me- spots, stripes, veining, colorful, and gorgeous foliage. It’s my favorite of all the ones I brought home
