I admit I only skimmed, but I couldn't find Galeandra's alliance.

So for now, like the cheese, it stands alone.

It's a strange little guy, but charming.
The pot next to it is 3.5 inches.

Wow, that is a beautiful flower. How long did you have the orchid for?

It's always fun to see something completely new. It's very attractive. Hope it grows well for you. How did you acquire it?

Not I, that's for sure. So far quite easy. Doesn't like to go totally dry while growing, so plenty of water and fertilizer now, then a dormancy like Catasetums.

Thanks for the tribe information!

I've only had it a few weeks, and it was in flower when I got it.

I was surprised a couple days ago to see new buds forming, then looked this guy up and found that they bloom sequentially.

Very much looking forward to seeing the buds develop and the flower open this time!

I am fortunate/unfortunate to have a stellar orchid business located about 25 minutes from me. All of the staff are black belt enablers. It's been mentioned from time to time on OB--It's called Orchid Trail, and it's in Morrisville, NC.

They had more than one of these left after I bought mine

That is a cute little orchid.

I have always been grateful not to live too close to any place that sells orchids or other exotic plants. Of course, maybe I would learn control. (ha, ha, ha) :|

After 15 years living near Orchid Trail, I'm still in the remedial category when it comes to control

On the upside, I have a lot of really awesome orchids.

Here's a window into Orchid Trail. The first pic is the sales greenhouse, second is the collections greenhouse, in which resides the Brassavola nodosa that I just couldn't get over. Check out the roots!
Last picture is a huge Dr. Suess plant- Tillandsia something, I think.
