#1 is an LC from Sunset Valley Orchids that I got at my club meeting and the other is a noid phal I've had for years. I usually cut the old spikes off at the base because I want the plant to gather energy to grow new leaves and roots for better flower production next time. This one pushed new side spikes even before the old spike was finished so I kept it. Not only did it throw buds on the old side spikes but two new spikes are coming. This is an old rescue that is actually a keiki from the old plant stem which rotted off at the base. I just love the red flower. And it is fragrant. Very for a phal. Any guesses as to which phal species it is is welcome. Opps!
