If I remember correctly, this is one of the plants we toyed with for the Mystery Plant project that some of are involved with. Ummm....

YEs.... there's a problem with the wood traffic... they cut the primary trees and only take the finest wood.... but in all trees are species of orchids and bromelias ... and they are going to die in the floor... is difficult to me to go into that cut trees.... this guys are not so good people and they think I'll call the police...
I'm like an orchid saver... JAJAJAJA

I think you should, if the police don't stop them from cutting trees at least you'd get first dibs on the species endangered by the practice.

hi... i also found an orchid... but in the napo forest, tu eres de quito verdad? XD bueno... its an encyclia... i almost killed the poor thing by overwatering it... i THINK its getting better since the roots are not so mushy as they were.

This is a good find and a great rescue. Its too bad that people illegally log in the primary forests. Do you know if these people are a commercial enterprise or just local people trying to survive?
In either case, I hope this little guy is still alive and doing well.
