I tried capturing the true color of the flower (ps it is a Tetraspis Red x self) but the camera never quite gets it the way we see it does it.
A lot of times the picture ends up looking better than the flower does in RL - at least the colors.

Developing it looked almost purple to me and the red is not a pure red. It has slight shades of brown in it but you can't see that on the picture. It's also quite a slender fragile flower. It's not quite what I was expecting but I'm hoping it has a great smell that will make it a keeper. I will have to let it open fully.

Also showing a violacea which is just starting the phal season for me. It usually extends into August. My liodora has just started making a flower spike.

Ha! Not gonna lie, I'm a bit jealous. Most species are barely starting to feel like it's time to do something

Mr. Fakename if you have not got one yet you need to get a phalaenopsis purple martin.
It flowers end of the year into November so much later than its parent the violacea, is one of my most reliable phalaenopsis and it kind of feels a bit like a species? atleast a species hybrid but it has the vigor that comes with a multihybrid.

I am in awe of that white multiphal from SADE. I know the white flowers are the least interesting but having that many is impressive and the white flowers in my experience last longer so what they lack in color they make up for in longevity.

Purple Martin is a nice primary hybrid, but I haven't finished my Phal species collection yet. Priorities!

One more, Phal Little Sister (again). This thing is always in bloom, with 3 branching spikes + new ones popping up.

It's been outside for a while, even with borderline temps for a Phal (nights of 13°C - 55.4°F) and while the plant grows leaves slower, it makes more roots and flower quality improved.

lol I like your new signate fakename.

I've just discovered 4 new phal spikes coming along one on one that already flowered in April and its a fragrant one, such a strong phal hybrid (unfortunately I don't know the name)

I used some pollen from my Tetraspis Red to pollinate this noid phall and knowing my luck it won't develop but fingers crossed this is the furthest I have come so far.... the flower has not dried up and fallen off yet!!! Something has started to happen so I'm excited to see if I've managed to create a pod this time. If anyone has any observations let me know what you think
