I have no clue!
Can you choose if you enter for flower quality award like AM; or overall growing award like CCM?

I know that the French Orchid Society takes a lot of things into account for awards.
Leaves/PB size, quality and health represent 25 points out of 100.
Flower quality (shape, texture, color, number, size) is 50% of the mark, and overall presentation is the remaining 25%.

Correct!

However, a lot of people like to polish the leaves if the plant is entered into a show or just for overall presentation purposes.

Polishing the leaves could also help with a cultural award.

Wow, 87 points!! That's a high AM and within reach of an FCC!! Get that to specimen size and you might be able to another 3 points on a subsequent blooming!

So pleased - I had this awful foreboding feeling that I had doomed it by asking how you transport these plants! So glad it didn't suffer any mishaps.

Well...I would say the key is buying plants from a highly awarded breeder *ahem Fred Clarke* !!
