Haven't posted a picture of my bloomers for awhile. This one deserves a picture. Because this is its fifth week in bloom, and it's still just sitting there like the day it opened.

A couple of new ones... too bad I don't take better pictures to do these justice.
A now NOID phrag I've had since 2005ish. Lost the tag a looong time ago.
And Phal Summer Rose (has a longer name, but don't remember it). It commenced about a month or more ago. I'll try to take a better picture when more opens up, but it sure is purty...

Yeah, that Phrag used to be bigger before I divided a ways back. And it won some sort of big award at some big St Louis or Kansas City orchid show. Originally owned by David Bird of Birds Botanicals, my cave orchid buddy.
Aaaand, I just found an old picture of it, with the label. Long time mystery solved... Phragmipedium Grande (caudatum x longifolium) a primary hybrid.

wow WW, when I saw that summer rose I thought it looked like a purple martin but much more flowiferous like an equestris and I was nearly right,
its the parent of the purple martin crossed with an equestris. That is really nice how many flowers it has produced for you.

Thanks Shadeflower. This is its first time blooming, so the blooms you see are what I've bloomed. Got it as a gift a year? or so ago from a friend as sort of an anniversary memorial... my elder deceased daughter's name was Rose.
I can't do justice to taking pictures, but that color is spot-on for a change. |
