The last time I posted I said that I was going to do a video walk through of my yard orchids.
It got shot.
But, I got hung up on trying to edit it and said: Maybe later.
Then, I went through and took some stills, 20 sonething.
Too many to upload here.
I let my domain lapse and my free hosting site doesn't like me to link to the photos in my online album.
So, I started trying to get a paid hosting site set up, sent them an email that they've not answered in over 2 weeks.
Life does get complicated.

Anyway, some events have happened that I cannot resist.
I have to post photos.

Feral Dendrobium Samurai
My Latest Orchid Joy-dsc_7123sm-jpg
It has bloomed for the first time giving a positive ID.

Then, this Yamamoto Dendrobium hybrid has bloomed in a frenzy.

The flowers are pushed down into the Tillandsia below it by the cats sitting on the orchid.
Probably so's their tender little butts don't have to be on that rough bark.

And finally, Oncid. papio hybrid Mendenhall
My Latest Orchid Joy-rimg0228-jpg
It is in bloom.
But the celebration is because of the 2 new spikes growing.
I can see one of them in the photo but no the other.

'19-06-21 Update:

Been watching these two Catt types for a week or more while hoping that the Oncid would stay healthy until they were ready.

Catt maxima
My Latest Orchid Joy-dsc_7196_sm-jpg
It looked pretty bad during and after the eruption.
All the leaves were very reddish in color.
I was convinced that it was probably going to die on me, instead it had bloomed very nicely.
From the size of the PBs, I assume it is a highland variety.

Lalea purpurata sanguinea
My Latest Orchid Joy-dsc_7204_sm-jpg

I had not paid much attention to this one for the last two years.
A few months ago I took the brush cutter and cut the ferns burying it away from around it.
In return it has bloomed nicely.
This is a LARGE plant.
The furthest RH PB is 12" tall.
The upper most blossom is 5" from the dorsal sepal tip to the RH sepal tip with the curl still in them.

Oncidium Sweet Sugar

This one has been in bloom for a few weeks now, probably very close to fading.

Den. moschatum

This one has always bloomed in June.
It did not bloom last year as the eruption was going on.
This blooming is quite feeble, but is happening.
There will be two new un-bloomed PBs for next June.
You can just barely make out the slipper lip opn the lower flower.
I haven't gone up to smelled the fragrance this year.
But, it is one of my favorite fragrances.

No, not lucky.
After 35 years in Alaska and reaching my 70's, moving to Hawaii was a conscious choice.
Growing orchids in my living room had become too much work.
I wanted to grow them in my yard and treat them like barn cats.
So far it is working as well as I had hoped.

The colors are not accurate.
The photos displayed are more intense than what I put up to be posted.
Not exactly sure why, but it does seem to happen often with reds.
The only reason I can come up with is that maybe because what I see when choosing and posting, I'm doing it from an IPS type monitor.
But, I do notice an increase in the saturation of reds after posting from then viewing on the same monitor.
It does baffle me.
