what a difference a few weeks makes!

One big DUH for me! I forgot to put the name of it!!!
You are all right, it is a vanilla vine...sorry about that

I have it planted in African Violet mix, and had a regular stick in it at first but nothing was happening. I attached 4 ft of tree fern totem and a few days later...voila! I mist it heavily a few times a day to keep the aerial roots happy and when I water it, I water right down through the totem. Seems to be working. I'll have to be patient though, I understand vanilla needs to grow up AND down for a total of 15 ft before it even thinks about blooming!

You know, that makes me think.....
I grew some vines from seed - not vanilla, but morning glory and nastrium and....
They popped out of their seeds and dirt quickly and then for months and months did NOTHING....
I put stakes in there for them to climb and then they shot up. I wonder if somehow for some strange reason it makes a difference..... lol
