That must smell great!! I do have a question about your purpuratas though. I notice that you have several purpuratas that are different heights. I have 2 plants with dramatically different heights (growing side by side with EXACTLY the same conditions) and I was wondering if you know whether or not purpuratas have different size variants, depending on what altitude they are originally from. I know that C maximas have 2 size varieties, depending on what altitude they are from. Are purpuratas like this? With such a floriferous bench and living in Brazil, I would imagine you would be the best person to ask!! Thanks!

Isurus, your perception is right, there are small purpuratas, barely one foot tall, and "giant" purpuratas reaching 2.5 feet. And everything in between. But, these differences are not due to altitude because L. purpurata is a coastal species, exclusively from the small hills and flat lands bordering the sea.
On the other hand, it is possible to say that the plants from the south (States of Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul) are clearly shorter than the plants found in the State of São Paulo.

Hmmmm... interesting! I would imagine the difference is due to different water regimes in the different locations? Thanks for the info!!
