Hi, Euplusia
Technically, all the flowers lacking the regular dominant color pigment are albino flowers (Latin = albinum), including the whites. The particular case of the albino flower that becomes white when the dominant pigment doesn't show up receives the Latin adjective "alba", or "album" for the masculin gender, which means exactly "white". So, "alba" / "album" shouldn't be used to define those green, yellow etc albino flowers. In these cases, the general "albinum" would be more appropriated.

Mauro,

I agree, the term 'alba' or 'album' is overused and misused. It refers to pure white flowers, not green, yellow or combinations of the three. There are other terms for various combinations of albino colors in flowers that are much more accurate and should be used. In their absence, albino is a good catchall for flowers without anthocyanins.

Hi Mauro! Beautiful orchid! I have never seen one of those before. How old would you say the orchid is? It's nice and large, very lush. Incredible roots! Overall stunning. Thanks for sharing. kiki-do

Hi Mauro! I have a quick question....when you have roots growing out of the bottom of the pot as appears to be the case in your photo's, do you hang the plant so you do not break the roots, or are they tough and just keep on growing while the pot sits on a shelf?

Hi, Becca
In these cases I hang the plant. BTW, almost all my plants are hanging now (way better for the plants). I still have a few, but am putting down my benches; when this happens I hang it immediately. Roots are precious. So precious that all the care with them is little.
