Default Paphs are Blooming

Paphiopedilum Macabre Magic
1st of three of these..They are big and have deformed pouches the other 2..Deformed pouches seems to be an endemic problem with many paphs these days.

Paphiopedilum superbiens 'Leonhardt' X 'Maroon Marvel'
this one is perfect color shape and form. Its a velvety purple thats hard to get you the real color. Pictures are getting better though since I been readin some.

another great looking flower. seed grown paphs can be all over the place in color shape and form from the parents. you cant tell until it opens what youre going to get in reality.

open up just a little more now and we got a nice looking flower with excellent color. the variations can be endless as you can tell.

Herons's Faire
a huge heavy flower. I dont know if it can straighten up but its a very nice plant. 3 growths 2 spikes and 4 buds

Wow - they're fabulous! Is that a pic of RJ Squirrel at the bottom?

Good growing! I'm gonna go growl at my mostly unproductive Paphs

RJ the Squirrel bandit.. hes eating my trail mix!!!!

I have had mixed results with re-blooming the paphs. Most are light years away from blooming again bec the ones I had, had either no new growths or very small ones. You dont realize that some of these plants can be upwards of 3-5 years old before they bloom. I dont know how they seem to make them grow as fast as they do in commercial greenhouses. Its the greenhouse advantage...Its a tuff battle on the porch and the windows ya know..but thanks as always!!!

Wow the paphs were lovely but OMG, a RED squirrel? We used to have them over here in the UK but now we don't see them very much. We have your grey ones instead. How nice for you, I miss them.

Woah! That superbiens! It's gorgeous!

Do you have any ID:s on the two underneath the superbiens? Is it a sukhakulii and an argus? They're wonderful as well but that supbiens do prod some serious buttock!

Wow! Congrats on all the blooms! I really like the Macabre Magic, Heron's Faire, and Muriel's Pearl! Fantastic!

I've only had one Paph. long enough to rebloom, a vini Macabre, but it's rebloomed twice under my care. I do have my first multifloral blooming after about 2 years of waiting, a Berenice. Can't wait for it to open! Though it's still just emerging from the leaves. lol

Beautiful Paphs! You have a nice collection of them. So if I understand your comments correctly, pics 3 and 4 are the same orchid, but with variation? What's the name?
Love Muriels Pearl, I love fuzzy Paphs!!

That's not the true red squirrel that there is in Europe (unless the UK had something entirely different) Red squirrels have large tufts of fur on their ears, and are much redder. I'm happy that we don't have the invasive gray ones over here yet...

I can't hit the like button on the first post more than once!!!!

I'm a sucker for species Paphs and those three with the superbiens as number one... To be honest, IF you ever have a division for sale of the superbiens, I'm willing to arrange/pay for cites thingies and everything that is necessary and buy said possible division, this because I want it sooo much!
